Portfolio M.D.

Here’s a prototype image of my new gallery website. The idea is to reduce clicks and show highlights of my work while letting people easily jump to the full detailed portfolio.

The pictures used in the slideshow will be more or less teasers of a full project. I’m also considering making the contact section monochrome so the only colors are in my work.

Here’s a brief sample of how my portfolio is going.

Still wanna do something with the front cover (As much as I enjoy the austere white space). In print, these will be two 8.5 x 14 pages bound in the center. For the web though, I think I’ll leave them wide as shown, I can make a panoramic cover and adjust the resume page. This is more of an evolution than a drastic change as I really like the portfolio design I already had. It translates well to print and allows for multiple colors without worrying about interference with the design.

Here’s the results of some very early exploration with type. Done for now, moving on to basic layouts and overall story I’m trying to tell.

Trying to think through this portfolio redesign as though it’s a magazine… not sure if that means anything or not.
